What is myeatbox?

Quite simply, myeatbox is a photo sharing website dedicated to all things food. Whether you're a foodie, a photographer, a home chef or something in between, myeatbox is a great place to be inspired. Along with pictures, users can post favorite or homemade recipes, stories, even camera specs, and share comments with friends and fellow eatboxers. Photos are filtered by color so that users can instantly see and explore different mealtimes.

How do I register?

You can register by visiting myeatbox’s main page and clicking on the “Register” button in the top menu, or by clicking here.

What if I don’t want to register?

You don’t have to register to view or comment on myeatbox food photos; however extra features such as a friends/favorites list, photo uploading, and the ability to use the myeatbox iPhone app are only available to registered users.

How do I upload a photo?

After logging into your account, select the “Upload photo” button in the top menu, or visit the direct link www.myeatbox.com/upload. Select the browse option to upload a photo directly from your computer.

How do I add a title/description?

After selecting your photo and mealtime, you can add a title and a caption. Captions are optional and can include any important stories, ingredients, or instructions about the food you are posting. We have a generous limit of 1,000 characters on captions, so feel free to include recipes. Text editing features such as bold, bulleted lists, and link options are located right above the caption text box.

If you need to edit the caption or title of a photo, click on the pencil icon of the picture you wish to edit, located on the right beneath the photo in your eatbox photostream.

How do I comment on a photo?

At the moment, myeatbox utilizes the DISQUS commenting platform. Users can sign in to comment through their Facebook, Twitter, OpenID, and DISQUS accounts, or comment as a guest. For more information on DISQUS or to create an account, please visit www.disqus.com.

Can I favorite/friend users?

If you’re a registered user, you can friend/favorite other users by logging in and visiting their eatbox. At the beginning of their photostream, you’ll see a grey box with their personal eatbox link. Under that link, you’ll find the “Add Friend” option. To view your friends, click on the “Friends” button in the menu at the top.

To delete a friend, go to your Friends menu and click the x located on the bottom right corner of their eatbox user photo.
